The Home Team Boost is Libro’s way of supporting community-based sports teams that help children and youth stay active, bring families together, build confidence in kids, and create a sense of belonging. We’re proud to support the teams that make that happen.
What is the Home Team Boost?
$50,000 to local sports teams
Libro is providing Home Team Boosts to support local sports teams across our region.
- Up to 100 teams will receive a $500 boost
- Funds can be used for things like equipment, fees, travel, or other team needs
- The program is designed to help kids and youth keep playing the sports they love

How It Works
Teams apply through a simple online form. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee at Libro, with the goal of supporting a wide range of teams, sports, and communities. Each year there will be two application periods, one in the Spring, and one in the Fall.
Who Can Apply
Community-based sports teams that support children and youth ages 4–18 and are based in Libro communities across Southwestern Ontario. Only one application per team will be accepted each year. Click here for the full list of program guidelines.
Program Guidelines
Eligibility Requirements
The team must offer organized sport activities for children and youth ages 4 to 18.
The team must be based in one of the following communities:
- Chatham-Kent
- Haldimand County
- Huron County
- London & Middlesex County
- Sarnia & Lambton County
- Norfolk County
- Oxford County
- Perth County
- St. Thomas & Elgin County
- Waterloo Region
- Windsor and Essex County
Only one application per team will be accepted each year
Ineligible Applications
This program does not fund:
- Individual athletes or participants
- Private or for-profit sport clubs
Submitting an application does not guarantee funding.
The Home Team Boost program supports up to 100 teams each year. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee at Libro.
Funding decisions will be made at the discretion of Libro, with the goal of supporting a wide range of teams and communities across our operating region.
When reviewing applications, the selection committee may consider factors such as:
- How the funding will support participation and access for youth
- A mix of sports, age groups, and seasons
- Overall demand during each intake period
- Geographic coverage across Libro communities
- Teams may apply once per year. Teams not selected are welcome to apply again in a future intake.
Timing
- Application Opens: March 16, 2026
- Application Closes: April 20, 2026
- Decision Announcement: Beginning May 15
- Disbursement: First week of June
