Purchase a GIC Online/ Mobile Banking
By Choosing to Purchase Online, You’ll Receive The Bonus Rate*
Note: If you’re looking to open a registered GIC in Online/Mobile Banking (TFSA RRSP, RRIF), you must have an existing registered account contract and variable account. You will use your variable account to transfer in money to the registered GIC.

To get started, follow the instructions below:
Step 1: Select “Open Account”
- Login into Online Banking
- Select “Open Account” in the top right corner, or in Mobile Banking tap the +
Step 2: Select “Investments”
- Select “Investments”
- Once you decide which account type you want click “Open”
Step 3: Complete the required fields
- Name the account
- Select the intended use (example: a future purchase or saving for retirement)
- Choose the investment term with bonus rate
- Input the dollar amount to invest ($1,000 minimum)
- If you’re opening a registered investment select your contract number
- Select the account to fund the investment from
- Select where to deposit the interest earned on the investment
- Note: Interest is paid annually for long-term options, and at maturity for short-term options
- Select Maturity instructions
- Rates will be available in the final confirmation of your maturity instructions closer to the term’s maturity date
- Read and agree to terms and conditions and when you are complete click “Confirm”
Step 4: Review and “Submit”
- Review the investment instructions and click “Submit” when you are ready
- If you need to edit anything use the back button on the screen
Step 5: Success
- You will see a confirmation screen
- You can go back to GIC or Accounts
