Libro Credit Union Recognized Nationally for Marketing Excellence

LONDON, ON – Libro Credit Union was honoured in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with two awards recognizing outstanding marketing accomplishments in 2016. The annual Marketing Association for Credit Unions (MACU) Achievement in Marketing Excellence Awards Gala highlights marketing successes within the credit union industry over the past year.

Libro received an Achievement in Marketing (AIM) award in the Digital Campaign category for its entry Follow the Family. The campaign featured the Harvey family from London as they grew from a family of three to a family of four. Viewers experienced how their Libro Coach supported the Harveys through their transition, using #FollowtheHarveys on social media.

In the Television category, Libro received an Achievement in Marketing Excellence (AIME) award, the highest level awarded at the conference. Their Coach/No Coach series of television spots demonstrated the value of Libro financial coaching using examples of successful coaching relationships outside the financial industry and comparing them to results achieved with no coaching support.

“Our goal was to show the people of southwestern Ontario the great value a Libro Coach can bring to their financial position, using genuine examples,” said Tina Van Loon, Marketing Manager at Libro Credit Union. “Our ‘reality show’ approach demonstrated to people from all walks of life how Libro’s coaching related to their situation. We’re extremely proud of the results of these campaigns, which led to Owner growth, public awareness and, of course, these national awards!”

Started in 1988 by credit union marketers and suppliers, MACU encourages the exchange of ideas, building of peer relationships, and fosters professional development among credit union marketers across Canada.
